A interesting and detailed hand embroidery work by Miao ethnic minority in Southwestern China. The technique is called satin stitch embroidery or in Chinese is Pin Xiu 平绣. This design is two fishes with a phoenix play together, which represent the harmony of nature life. Miao people’s embroidery work are always inspired by nature, and a lot of animal are as gods for them. In very good condition, approximate date around 2000.
